Basket Filter

Basic Definition

It is a pre-pipeline coarse filter with staggered high inlet and low outlet, different from straight-through coaxial types. It is fitted with an internal flat-bottom stainless steel filter basket, suitable for pipelines with elevation difference on site. It is mostly installed upstream of pumps and instruments to trap solid contaminants and protect downstream equipment.

Structural Composition

Carbon steel/stainless steel cylinder, staggered high and low flanged inlet and outlet, quick-open top flange cover, flat-bottom perforated/woven filter basket, bottom drain plug and built-in flow guide structure. No complete pipeline disassembly is required for maintenance.

Working Principle

Media enters the cylinder through the high inlet and settles naturally by gravity. It passes through the filter basket for separation; solid impurities are trapped inside the basket, while clean medium flows out via the low outlet. When the pressure difference rises, open the cover to take out and clean the filter basket. Residual liquid and accumulated sludge inside the cylinder can be drained through the bottom drain plug.

Application Scenarios

Widely applied in petroleum, chemical, water treatment, hydraulic, HVAC, food and pharmaceutical pipelines. Installed upstream of pumps, valves and flowmeters to intercept welding slag, rust, solid particles and flocculent impurities.
